Strange battery problem on a new laptop

So I have ASUS ZENBOOK laptop that has a micro-SD port. Idk why but when the [B]bright[/B] light (e.g. sunlight) gets into that port (or USB port) at a specific angle (when unplugged) the laptop shows an icon if it was plugged into a power adapter and then instantly turns off and it's impossible to turn it back on by pressing the power key without plugging laptop into a power and then pressing the power key. What's that? The laptop is new btw. Never heard about anything like that and couldn't find any info about some similar problems. Is it a defect?
