Which version is most compatible and best suited with the Acer Aspire One (512mb ram, 8gb SSD)?

    Thank in advance,
    Joe

I use standard and LXDE myself. Pick your favorite and give it a shot.

There are a number of distro's based on ubuntu, so they can all be equally compatible. What you like most is up to you to find out. On this forum there is a lot of info about getting hardware working, I used the guide, but Sickboy's kernel also seems to help a lot.

I would say give them a try. Spend a couple of days with each option and make a choice.

I'm running Netbook Remix, and love that setup, but you may like something else, try and fail ;)
