I have been roaming the forum for months now and im curious to know if the ssd can be swapped to a regular 2.5" sata hdd or have both at the same time?

I have read before that it is not possible in the ssd version but the sources could be wrong.

THanks

The SSD model can be upgraded to a 1.8" HDD or SSD but the HDD models can be upgraded to a 2.5" HDD or SSD.

The HDD models have a bulge on one side of the bottom of the notebook to fit the larger sized drives. I've seen both models at my local Microcenter.

To answer this specific question; No.
Why?
Because the SSD version of the One does not have a SATA connector on the motheboard, the SSD has a ZIF (LIF) connector. It does have pins for it, so you can solder it in if you want, but no one has yet tested that out and we don't know if it's even fully functional. And apparently the 2,5" drive won't fit in well. Like the above poster said, the HDD model has a bit different casing.

I was afraid of that. Thanks a bunch!

Trying to find a 120gb blue with us keyboard to canada is getting tougher. :(

As stated above you can still put a 1.8" HDD in there, or possibly even Compact Flash with a LIF connector.

Yes I could but 2.5" is much faster, cheaper, and does not take very much more power than a 1.8" but a cf card must take significantly less power.

If you want to trust me I can ship you a 120GB XP US machine to Canada, PM me if you want to talk about it.. I know I am a newb to the forum but I can't stand to see someone missing out on these things!
