Hi all....installed Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid on my Acer 110L, and then installed network manager WICD. I have deleted Knetwork Manager, and my wirless works to an extent. It recognizes available access points, so the Acer modem is working, but after I enter my WEP password it cycles for a while, and then announces that it has Timed OUT... cannot get IP address.

I'd really hate to have to re-install LinPus, but unless someone has a suggestion here, I'll have to go that route.

    Thanks in advance...

Re: Cannot get IP address with WICD

It appears that sometimes the best thing to do is nothing.

Booted up my 110L today, and the wireless connected to my home network with no problem at all.

I wish I could post a solution for others, but I really don't know what happened... just that it works.

    Thanks to all...
