Ok, used this to install Snow leopard:

    http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi3.shtml

Installed perfectly. But I get kernel panic at the last step.

    Boot, Installing Updates and NetbookInstaller

I get the kernel panics when its installing the extensions.

The funny thing is if I boot from the Netbook cd Snow Leopard starts fine. I have vid cam, sound, video card all working. Havn't had a chance to try the WIFI yet.

Anyone help getting it to boot without the cd?

Ok, think I figured it out. I didn't have my Extra folder setup right. I don't think I'm still right but it boots without the cd now. I have video, vid camera, sound.

    Working on WIFI!

    Edit:

Tried for the last few hours unsuccessfully to get any kind of networking to work! Goin to install LEO back and copy my kext folder and see if that works

    Edit:

Got SNOWY to take my IO80211FAMILY.kext and Snow see's the wireless, but I can't turn it on. Here are a few screens. Anyone one else interested and want to help work on this?

Thanks for making a new thread :)

Anyways, try installing the Chameleon boot loader- http://chameleon.osx86.hu/
It's not hard to do, and they just added Snow Leopard support.

    *EDIT-
Apparently I didn't read your whole post- I guess you don't need help w/ booting from the HDD after all xD
Anyways, you can try the wifi driver in my D250.zip - http://bigplrbear.com/files/D250.zip - However, they're designed to work w/ Leopard. Snow Leopard compatibility isn't guarenteed. NOTE- The driver is 32-bit, but since the Atom processor is 32-bit ONLY this won't be a problem ;)

Nope your drivers didn't work......I used pacifist to install the older airport 000804, I think the updated airport utility is the problem. my kext loads and shows but doens't allow me to turn it on, just wish this would work. Everything else works perfectly :)

    it installs very nicely even..

But the trouble is.. WiFi.. (and sleep.. )
I dont know about you guys.. but I have the broadcom 4312 card
    Type: Other Network Controller
    Driver Installed: No
    Bus: PCI
    Vendor ID: 0x14e4
    Device ID: 0x4315
    Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x105b
    Subsystem ID: 0xe01b
    Revision ID: 0x0001
    Link Width: x1
    Link Speed: 2.5 GT/s

The guys with HP 311 are (apparently) pretty close to nail it tho..
would be nice if they do, we can probably use their findings..
also i think the lenovo s10e uses the broadcom..

but I guess 10.5.8 isnt horse-whatsit so I guess it might be the way for now..

I am actually posting this from my D250 - thanx to my good ol' iPhone with BT-tethering..

So if I wanted to change out the atheros wifi card for another one which one should I buy?

Any ideas or e-bay links? I would much rather use snow leopard since I bought the DVD, but I need the stability, so I have re-installed win7. would much rather use mac.
