    Hey Rory,

    Can you post a screen shot of the graphics/display that you have from the System Profiler? I'm interested because, i really dont see anything on mine that says 'Hardware Accelerated'.

    Thanks!

    Not sure exactly, but all the netbook sites except here seem to use them for the guides. So i just tried it and 100% worked

    I used this method to upgrade a working 10.5.6 install to 10.6 and it worked perfect! Only sound and ethernet are not working after the install.

    I was able to get the sound output working with voodooHDA.kext, but the mic does not work. I also installed the realtekr1000.kext, but the ethernet still will not work. WIFI works fine.

    To fix the ethernet install realtekr1000.kext, reboot then run these command in terminal:

    sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions
    sudo find /System/Library/Extensions -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
    sudo find /System/Library/Extensions -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
    sudo kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions

    Reboot again. Your screen will now be 800x600. To fix this run NetbookInstaller and only check install general extensions. Reboot and enjoy!

    Yeah, I think it wouldn't kill me either. But hopefully there will be a fix for it soon. There are times when you need the ethernet port for whatever reason, and it would be real annoying for it not to work!

    Might just take the plunge anyway, is snow leopard that much better than leopard for the AAO?

    Just a heads up. I followed this method as well. VERY easy. Thanks for the help guys. Just need to reinstall some kexts, my sound is missing right now.. not sure qhy my OS86X tools isn't working, but I'll figure something out!

    Thanks again, the addition of proper 2 finger trackpad support is great, and things feel snappier too!

    EDIT: Well, now I know that OS86X only works in leopard. Thats fine. I've installed Kext Utility 2.32 to help installing kexts. Problem is I've installed the voodooHDA.kext and still dont have any sound, both input or output.

    I have installed on top of a working (as far as it can be) 10.5.6. Any ideas people?

    I'm not sure if internet sharing works with Snow Leopard. My dad had problems (connected via ethernet, sharing via Airport), so he downgraded his Mac back to 10.5.8. I haven't tried SL so far.
