Slow network init on battery power

Anyone noticing very slow network initialization on battery power under XP. If I boot with power plugged in XP boots in under 25 seconds and a few seconds after the desktop appears I get my wireless, lan, and 3G tray icons. On battery power once the desktop appears it can be as long as 30 seconds before my network tray icons load. What gives is it just my One anyone else noticing this???
