a special hello to any music types (dj, engineer, performer). i have an older version of a program called Cakewalk - 3.0. it works fine in win98. but XP causes it to hog 100% CPU on all single core CPUs i've tried. with my AA1 i see to my delight it uses only 50% CPU. great, but how does it do it? is it a 2-sided single core? the performance meter suggests 2 CPU, showing 2 windows. someone with more experience please enlighten me.

    loving my AA1.

Atom is a Hyperthreading-enabled CPU. Appears to the OS as 2 logical cores but it is in essence a single core CPU at heart.

Yes, it is Hyper-Threaded, and because the software was made to use only 1 core, it use only 1 processor or thread per cycle.

Well, Hyper-Threading is not as good as Dual-Core, but I have to say that this little machine handles Windows Vista better than different Single-Core laptops on Vista. Intel made a Dual-Core Atom processor but that's not for netbooks.
