SIM CARD

    I though I would try and put my 3 USB broadband Sim card in the slot behind the battery....but I cant, there seems to be some odd sticky label inside the slot!!!

    anyone else seen this?

    No point in sticking anything in there since the machine does not have a 3G modem.
    The 3G enabled models will be released in the future.

    BTW but can we install the 3G modem by ourselves? or it needs some special one?

    technically you could install a 3g card, but most of the AAO's do not even have the second mini PCIe slot soldered on to the board. You would need to buy the slot on solder it on then add the card etc...

    do you think acer would give an update option to early buyers of the AA1? I have linpus 8gb ssd with 1gb ram.

    I do not thing upgrade for early adopters will be available as there is couple of things to do: missing miniPCI slot, SIM card holder and someone on forum already reported couple of components missing around place for SIM card holder. I think Acer will be selling another models 3G ready only...
