Silly Question? How to record from webcam

I have been doing some searching on how to do this and I am not getting too far.

How do I record using my AspireOne webcam? What software to use?

I am running with Windows 7 which seems to support Vista apps quite well.

Any advice?

You can simply use Windows Movie Maker!
Open it, press Capture, select the webcam and record...

 

I wish it was that easy. There is no capture button anywhere. It says it is the beta, if that means anything to you.

 

Please click on View from the menu and select Task Pane. You will see a Task called Capture Video. Click the drop down button and you will see an option "Capture from Video Device". Click on that and select the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam and away you go!!

Have you guys even tried Windows 7? There are no menus like you would normally see on Windows Movie Maker. There is just "Home", "Visual Effects" and "Edit" none of which have a capture button or pull down.
