screen res. stuck at 800 x 600

    OK, i searched the forum but couldnt find my answer so i apologize if this has already been solved for someone else.
    Recently i was playing around trying to download drivers and such. Ive been downloading games from GoG.com and have been having problems getting them to run on my Aspire one.

    So, one thing led to another and im really not quite sure what i did exactly. Now my screen resolution is stuck at 800 x 600 and wont go any higher and 2 of the games that worked before (Fallout 1 and Sacrifice) now dont work.

    Ive looked all over the net for an answer and im not really sure what to do. Im pretty much a novice when it comes to some of the more technical aspects of computers, so any help broken down Barney style would be much appreciated.

    Have you tried reinstalling your video driver?
