I recently purchased the 120gb/xp/1gb ram version of the aspire one. Maybe this is common for all models, maybe not, but when I boot it when the screen backlight first turns on there's a sort of "window" about a half inch wide on the top of the screen that shines a little ray of light down into the blackness of the screen. It doesn't affect it when the screen actually starts projecting images, only when it's totally black. Also, I noticed that if I press Fn+F6 to turn off the screen, the screen will black out, but if I look closely the same window of light will very dimly be illuminating the middle of the screen. It's almost like a hole in the backlight seal, kind of hard to describe. Is this normal?

well, fn+f6 seems to just turn off the backlight, if you look closely you'll actually see everything that's on your display at the time. So I don't know how it could be a backlight leak in that case. On startup, maybe, I haven't seen it myself.
