I'm sure this is a daft question and has probably been answered elsewhere but I have tried searching the forum and can't find the answer. How do I reformat a USB memory stick in EXT3 format? Do I have to resort to command line stuff or can I do it through the GUI?

There are a number of GUI apps available that will allow you to format in ext3. You could for example install qtparted:

    sudo yum install qtparted

    and use that.

    Cheers.

OK, done that and thanks very much for your help. QTparted is installed and I have launched it but all of the menu options are greyed out and I can't select them including the format command. Any ideas?
