Try to get that same person on the phone again.... ask if he/she knows the difference between a 3cell and a 6cell battery. If not tell her to connect you to another service person since obviously he/she does not know shit, heheheh. :D

Not sure if I should hop on this post or start another...

I've had my AA1 (6-cell) for a week now. The first two battery charges gave me over 6 hrs of run time. Yesterday, I let the battery drain down pretty low (I see now that's a no-no), powered down, and then recharged fully. When I powered up, the battery read 96% charge, 4:47. So I plugged it into A/C for a while, and once it read fully charged, I unplugged. Again, it immediately said 97%, and about 4:50. It's been on now for about an hour, and it's reading 75% 4:08.

Why won't it charge to 100%, and why is 97% only 4.75 hrs?? I was getting well over six hrs on the first couple charge cycles!

    thanks!

its lithium ion batteries, once they go too low, like 5% is too low for my likings, my yeah, once they go that low, chances are you are going to lose some charging capacities, try upgrading to BIOS 3305 anyways.

this problem didn't happen (at least in the first few months) on my old thinkpad t43 laptop, i've been using it for 3 years, fully drain the li-ion battery over the weekend when i only bring home the laptop but not the charger, & fully recharge it to 100% at office

right now after almost 3 yrs usage, the li-ion battery is 14% wear & reliable

my a110 just about 3 months old, the li-ion battery already 20% wear

Acer's User Guide for the AAO reads under the Guidelines for safe battery usage: "The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles."

    What gives? My .02

haha, I did that as well, but instead, I had 3% wear level from doing that, maybe not a good idea?
right now, the wear level is like 25%.
BTW, my battery model is UM08B74 by Simplo, and its made in korea, 6 cell of course.

Ok, I used battery eater Pro 2.70, and wear level is back to 14%, which is still a major concern to me, that makes me wonder, Simplo might have used cheap lithium ion cells in the battery pack, because my friend used his laptop for like 3 years now, and wear level is only 6% and he heavily stresses the battery.
That explains why, cheap machine use cheap parts.

First thing to do is see what Everest "reports" for this new battery.

I can see it now, it comes up as not 0% and you go mental and phone Acer up accusing them of sending you a used battery

When I get the battery, I will fully charge it up for sure, and then fully discharge it for 1 time, cause I don't want to stress out the lithium ion cells.

Oh wow, the battery Acer gave me was a 6-cell 5800Mah. the label was printed as 5200Mah, but when I looked inside everest, it's actually 5800Mah. Oh wow, now I got extra 35minutes extra use compared to my old battery, w00t! and my battery is operating at 12.6V?! I am starting to get a bit worried now..
