if you want windows to boot first, you need to set it as active as i said, then use the chain0 method of booting osx via the xp bootloader.

I know the dilemna you're having, when you set xp to active and you choose osx does it automatically boot to osx or does it give you a timed option? My osx gives me the option to hit anykey to choose bootup options and I just selected xp form the list but since I've reinstalled with iatkos i5 and switched to efi when I choose osx from the vista bootloader it goes staright into osx (I eventually went triple boot with xp,vista, osx and use vista bootloader and it works great for me.)
