I bought my Aspire One and it was great.

Took it out of the box and had a good play with it.

Then I decided to run liveupdate to make sure my WinXP was fully up to date, what a big mistake!

Half way through the update the Aspire turned off and then when I restarted it the network would not connect, both Lan and wireless.

I've read loads of forums for the answer, been on the Acer website (Useless!!!) and downloaded new drivers.

I was going to re-install the OS but found out that I had no way to get the software on the CD to run on my Aspire!

My solution to this problem was to go to the 'Add/Remove Programs' section and delete all of the Windows XP updates, every single one that was on there.

Some of them asked my to restart my computer, but I check the 'Do not restart my pc' button.

Once all of the updates were deleted I restarted the computer.

Immediately, the network was back up and running.

So once I was connected I put the power lead in and made sure I was connected to my network with my wire.

Then I ran the 'Windows Update' again, and so far so good.
