Problem with Synaptics Pointing Device

    My Synaptics pointing device "went away." Wouldn't work etc. I tried everything. The system-hardware-profile said it was working but I could not get it to recognise a gesture or a click. I tried reloading the driver and finally restored the operating system. Still didn't work. I went out and bought a wireless mouse. Then, after reinstalling all of my applications, I noticed the F7 key (the one with the little finger on it??) Fn F7 and back came my pointer. Hope this helps someone else!
