Printing

    Wow, I know that part of the design rationale for CUPS was zero-config but I've never seen it working. Ubuntu workstations seem to need some coaxing to work and the least said about Windows boxen the better!

    I wasn't really expecting the A1 to support printing at all, or at least not without a fight. So I connected to my network and fired up openoffice to see what would happen.. typed some text, File -> Print, saw my printer in the list already. Selected that and hit print. Wandered over to the printer and picked up my document.

    Hot damn!

    Yes, very nice.

    I won't add the printer details there as it may be misleading. All off the grunt-work .. drivers, printer comms etc. are on the server - it is quite possible that the A1 cannot print directly to it.
