Today Microcenter returned $50 of the $399 price I had paid 2 weeks ago, and did it with a smile. :D

I'm liking the price drop, now I have an external DVD for my ONE.

We bought multiple Aspire Ones from MicroCenter and they refunded $50 off of each one without any hassle whatsoever.

    Excellent company to deal with.

CC has lowered its price by $10. If you bring in your receipt, a manager'll refund you $11 (110%, read the guarantee they have at customer service). Unless a local competitor (within 5~15 minutes of the store) is offering the aspire one for $329, the $11 refund is the best thing you're going to get.

Unless the Circuit City you frequent is more sane than the one I worked at.

Hey don't forget http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/lookLearn.do?cat=-13318&edOid=105471&c=1 .. 30 days to get price match. Best Buy is already listing the Aspire One (XP ver) $349.

Circuit City should be lowering their price soon since the actual retail price is still set at $379. Once they do this, they should refund the entire $50 as long as its within your 30 days or whatever their return policy is.

Amazon still has their price set at $379 as well so some retailers have not lowered the retail price.

I just bought an AA1 yesterday (8/24) in-store at Circuit City for $309.00 even though the website remains at $369.00, so anyone still looking may want to venture into a local store before trusting the online price.

Thanks for the info on CirCuit City. I may just take a ride in there today and see if they will refund the $$. Did you tell them that the retail price had been lowered or did it just ring up that way?

    Thanks again.

The $309 price was actually on the price tag in the store! It was marked as a reduced sale price. I fully expected it to still be $379 so I was going to ask about the upcoming price drop, but once I saw the tag I bought it immediately. Unfortunately I have no idea whether that sale price was only available in that particular store or whether you can find it in any store.

I'd love to find it for $309! I'd probably just buy it on the spot.

As for the rest of the thread: early adopters always pay higher prices. And there's always buyers remorse. Sometimes I regret buying something for *years*, before I finally realize that it really wasn't such a bad deal. Afterall, let's say your AA1 works great, and you get 2-3 years out of it, no problems. Is an extra $50 that big of a deal over 2-3 years time? Yeah sure, it's a few coffees that you could have bought; but is it really all that much?

If there's a Best Buy in the area, CC will not match their prices, as the BB one is for the XP/HDD version. Unless the people working there hate money and are woefully ignorant and incapable of reading.

Going to Circuit City later to see if in-store price is cheaper. Will post when verified

I bought my 150 on the 16th at the local Microcenter. I just called and not only are they going to do a chargeback for the $50 difference, but the manager took my info over the phone and said he would dig up the transaction so I wouldn't have to drive in. I'm sold as a customer there now.

Circuit City is selling the Blue Acer Aspire One 8gb/Linux/512mb for $309.99!

I had a friend of mine who still worked there check the price for some random CC stores and all of their prices rang up to $309.99. If CC still has the AAO in stock by you, buy it!

And they refunded my $74.90 no problems.

I bought my AAO @ Circuit City in Vestal NY on 08/11. I went there today and the price was marked down to $309.99. I asked about a refund of the difference and they gave it to me no questions asked. I didn't even have the receipt with me; I just gave them my phone no. I'm thrilled.

What is your location? I called and checked 2 of the CC's near me and they both quoted me $369.99. I'd really like to get $74.90 back as well!

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. I wonder if they have regional pricing? I know BB does this sometimes, but I thought CC's pricing was nation wide.

SWEET!!! I just called one more Circuit City in my area to see if they could pull the price from store 3689 and they actually show the $309 price at this store. On top of that, they are doing the refund over the phone so I do not have to drive in to get the price difference!

akronbudz and Wolydarg, thanks for the heads-up!

So if you call or go to CC and they do not show the $309 price, have them call around to other stores to see if they have the sale price.

Yep, another conformation of the CC 309 price match. Considering I bought it during tax free weekend as well, I think I got a pretty darn good deal here.
