Windows ? Rightclick on the taskbar, select properties, and either remove tickmark in "hide inactive icons", or click the change button and set the value for the power icon to show allways.

Did you check the taskbar property sheet and the status there ? Either disable autohide inactive icons, or find the power icons setting there and set it to show allways.

Its the anti virus thats doing it.

This happens for most Auto-Logon users. Methods/workarounds: Log off and Log back on, password protect your account or disable SSDP and uPNP Services.

something the antivirus does to it. Fix. which isnt mine..found it on here too .

Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm and press ? in "Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?" and download the program from there and Disable SSDP and uPNP Service.

worked for me with same issue..plus 2 other icons missing.
