I have an external HDD with about 250 .avi files on it that I would like to be able to watch on my new Aspire One. MediaMaster says that it does not have the codec. I found something about divx files elsewhere on the forum that required installing the vlc player which I have done. I can see the files but cannot select any of they as they appear greyed out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

which OS are you using? you should be able to double-click that file and VLC will play it..
or try right clicking the file(windows) and choose Open With > VLC... might be the same with linpus but Im not totally sure about it.
