Pidgin ! ICQ Problems

can someone help me to run pidgin?

If i connect to the icq network, i get a error message. Client to old, please upgrade .....

My installed Packages

libpurple i386 2.3.1-2008061601 19m
libpurple i386 2.4.3-1.fc8 20m

dependencies
acerim (the native Acer IM Client)

This has to do with the ICQ protocol accepted by AOL (AIM), I think it's version 5 vs 6. The latest version of Pidgin has fixed this problem. Not sure how you should update yours...

I deinstalled the Acer tools and could use Pidgin 2.4, which supports ICQ perfectly.
