I see on Macles blog how to remove photo manager and install F-spot, which I am keen to do, as I feel Photo Manager is a bit basic to say the least.

However, I want to know what happens to file associations - I had a jpg on a memory stick - when I clicked it photo manager opened it - great - if I remove photo manager and install F-Spot will Linux now know that jpg and associated file extensions should be opened with F-Spot and correspondingly launch F-Spot?

i.e. I dont want to be in a situation where I have to open F-Spot then open the picture files from within it

It just opens the picture and seems to work well.

Just looking at the removal instructions, and I'm a bit confused:

I assume all I need to do is "sudo yum remove pdvdlinux pcmlinux mplayer\" but for what ever the photo master application is called - how can I find this out?! (I looked at the list of applications using the first command on that page, but the list is huge and I don't know which is which)

How I did it was looking at the version numbers both the acer photo and media player have the same long obscure version number: 5.XX.XXXXX or something like that.

Just search for "acer" with the add/remove software tool and choose installed packages that should narrow it down (it should be near the top).

Sorry I removed it so I do not know...

It's pcmlinux. Pdvdlinux is the Media Master, MPlayer is, well, MPlayer. So, to get rid of Photo Master:
    Code:
    sudo yum remove pcmlinux
    Happy removing. :D
