    Hi all,
I've enabled the context menu for xfce and was trying to use Package Manager to install development tools, so that I could install my university's VPN client (which needs to be compiled from source) but I get the following error when trying to install "Development -> Development Tools":

I have just ticked this option and not customised the software to install at all. After I get this error the update process exits, leaving the requested software not installed. Any ideas?

I haven't installed any other software through Package Manager, only used LiveUpdate to update my netbook.

Have you updated the repositories (see this entry on the macles blog)? If the repos aren't updated, there will tend to be version clashes like this.

Thanks for this and apologies for the late reply. I've now updated the repositories as detailed in that post, but I still get the same message. Any other ideas?

Actually, never mind. I removed the problem package with:
    Code:
    sudo yum remove gettext
and re-ran the package manager and it looks like that's done the trick.
