    I completed my hardware mod today. I bought two 15 watt soldering irons and put the tips into the chuck of my rotary tool. (dremel wannabe) and rotated them against a fine grain sandpaper to create a fine tip. I then used the two soldering irons to pick up the resistor from R124 and dropped it into place at r122.

    I'm certain that r124 is open and r122 looks fine too.

    My clock generator is ICS9LPRS365BKL. When I use the newest version of setfsb I choose the closest CG I can find ICS9LPRS365BGLF and try changing the FSB using the slider. Nothing happens when I try to change the FSB.

    Has anyone else successfully changed the FSB with the ICS9LPRS365BKL CG? Should I change registers manually?

    I have a dell with SLG8SP513V. I cannot find R124 or R122, though I've only looked under a panel on the bottom. I don't know if the location of R124 would be the same on my mobo, but I hope so. Would there be an alternative to removing the resistor, or could I just rip it off with some tweezers?

    Thank You

    Hi could someone please post a image of the mod. I've tried googling it and haven't come up with anything, also the image in the second post of this thread no longer exists and as I understand that was a image of the resistor to be moved. I have a Samsung n210 with the SLG8SP513V clockgen. There are no markings on the resistors around the clockgen. I just want to get an idea of what resistor must go where and see if It can be done on this netbook. Any Help is much appreciated. Thanks

    I have the SAME problem.

    Model: A150
    BOIS: 3310
    OS: Win7 Ult
    PLL: SLG8SP513V
    SetFSB Release: 2.2.134.98
    Resister R122 = Soldered the resistor on from R124

    Result: Varies
    Register 1 / Bit 6 does not crash system and grants 4mhz
    100FSB = Stable
    133FSB = Stable
    133FSB+ = Applies initially but locks up after trying to run something, hard drive light stays on.

    With or without additional ram, it locks up over 133FSB. With battery or with power, it locks up over 133FSB.

    I wasnt able to resolder the resitor back on but the pencil method work fine. Max stable fsb is 150 though. Guess i would have to flash ram timings to go more. I also used a circular drill bit to open up a hole above the fan and added some ram sinks onto the stock heatsink. ill try to get some pics soon. this is similiar to the mod i did on my notebook : http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-c ... oject.html

    Is there anyone else that is able to go past 133fsb after the mod that used pencil and not the resistor?

    I assume there must be a hardware lock on all AAO models? I have a 532h and I was wondering if anybody has figured anything out on it, I've been looking high and low with no luck...

    Overclocking ZG5

    Hi Guys,

    I have seen that many of you have already overclocked the zg5 processor. And it was not easy but it works.
    And so i've done it myself. I've unsolder the R124 resister & draw a pencil line on R122 resister. And The results are - I overclock it to 1800MHz, my pc hang and i have tried it many times but no luck. So, can anyone help me, please. i am to exicted to see the results.

    Thanks,
    AD :(

    My PC Specs,
    AAO 150 ZG5
    Atom N270
    1GB Hynix RAM
    120GB HDD

    Hi! I know this is an old thead but I hope someone is still here.

    I have AOA150 with SLG8SP513V and I have done ram upgrade with 1Gb chip (PC2-5300 DDR2 800mhz) before. Recently I did HW MOD (soldering, not pencil mod) but I accidentally cut off component C159 also. I think that I managed to resolder C159 back and then I tried to overclock. I managed to OC only 4MHz more. When I tried to go more my ZG5 was freezing.

    So I thought that my soldering was bad so I opened my ZG5 again. I resoldered R124 again and I think it is very good now. I tried to resolder C159 also but I LOST it (damn you C159). So now my ZG5 doesn't have C159 at all.

    I tried to OC again but I got same result. I have same version of setFSP than in the guide. I guess my RAM chip doen't like changing ram timings or this has something to with C159. I'm going to test without 1Gb ram chip shortly. If I can overclock without 1Gb ram chip then I guess problem is solved? But If I can't I guess that the problem is C159. Can someone agree this?

    If I can OC without 1Gb ram chip what kind of ram chip I should buy? Is Samsung K4T1G164QQ-HCE6 only option?
