The guides and files will come tomorrow. We may not have the left light working on the wifi to let us know if it is on, but at least we will know how we toggle it. It is just too late to finish tonight. Here are two pics to hold you over.

Re: OSD working in ubuntu for touch pad

Guide is up in the bug tracker. No one has tested yet so not my fault if you toast your system and have to start over.

If the instructions are not clear, feel free to find me in #onelinux on freenode. I am there alot these days.

This thread http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2043 may be of interest.

Towards the end of the thread, I've done a Howto for graphical OSD using libnotify which is what Xubuntu (and Ubuntu?) use natively for OSD.

The OneLinux OSD used a recompiled version of the Linpus OSD. I couldn't get that working, so I went the Ubuntu way.

... thanks for the point, but I was unable to get it working from this.

    thanks,

Guess i should check here more often. Here is a quick howto that i wrote just now, should work, but it is from memory

    User instructions

Copy the files to where they go (put the files in the etc folder where they go, etc).
The file in the home/user directory is hidden, put that in your user directory

    enter these lines in /etc/rc.local
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e025 130
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e026 131
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e027 132
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e029 133
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e071 134
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e072 135
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e055 159
    /usr/bin/setkeycodes e056 158

Now most is setup to work.
go to system>preferences>keyboard shortcuts and disable volume up, volume mute, volume down

    Run splashd
    run xhotkeys

Smile because it should be working

The file is located here http://www.sendspace.com/file/rpjv69

Let me know if it works or doesnt, i will check back about it later. I am busy working on the oneLinux kernel right now which is why I have not been here for some time.

    hey

I tried it out, but when I want to run splashd in the terminal there comes a error. i forgot which error(something with the /etc/.../splash/splash.xml). and when i want to run the make script there are also errors because he can't find the gtk+ packages(gtk+-2.0,glib,gthread,...)
maybe it won't find the packages because i installed netbook remix, but i do not really now.

i resigned now because you are uploading beta 4 of onelinux :))

    Hi
I have done accordingly. Some problems occur in the procedure.

    1. Dose the command "splashd" should be rum everytime I restart the system?
    2. When I run "xhotkeys", it replies command not found, such that

line 1: touchpad: command not found

I never got OSD working by the methods described. I did get it working by other means though - and still use it...
