On boot-up LCD transitions from black screen to bright white

I am a brand new Acer Aspire One owner of a d150 model.
Just received it on 2/25/09
When I went to turn on the computer for the very first time, I saw some text on the black screen and then while continuing to boot up it transitioned from black to bright white. I could barely make out the windows initial setup screen and then finally it went all white and then I could not see anything. I could hear that windows was running with the setup music in the background but I could only see the white screen and nothing else. Also there was a straight horizontal line crossing it or a vertical line crossing the screen randomly each time I re-started the unit.

I think this unit if obviously faulty, I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and is there a fix for it? I did purchase 2 of these units and the other unit had no problems at all.

Again its a brand new acer aspire one 10.1 D150.
