Hi guys, something many of you will have been looking for. New user josepharari has just turned my attention to some links where you can download any version of Windows 7 you need, as legitimate ISO images.

I have checked them out and so far have not found anything illegal about them (I have yet to actually download an image, but I simply don't need them, already have all the editions I need). The premise on which they are available is perfectly reasonable. You will need your own product key. It seems these downloads were originally hosted by online stores that deliver the software via electronic distribution (Download after you've paid).

These images are not made available to make the lives of pirates easier, So no posts about product keys, generators, hacks, cracks etc. If you do have a problem with the images, post here immediately.

Aspire One User forums does not condone piracy in any way, shape or form, so if you find anything non-legit about these links let us know and we'll remove the links.

You are free to use the product for three days. After that, you have to purchase an install key from Microsoft.

Will your Windows 7 starter key work for any of these?

No, your product key will only work with the edition of Windows it is paired with, a product key for Starter edition, will only work with Windows 7 Starter.

I think these are an official repository that even Microsoft is aware of and supports. In fact I think that's where I even first heard about them was on some of Microsofts own forums (or maybe it was my computer manufacturer's official forums). I actually just used the Windows 7 installation from this site to reformat my computer a few days ago and it worked flawlessly. All I had to do was use the Windows serial number glued to my computer when activating it.

There was only one small snag in the process. I guess the computer manufacturers have some separate volume license serial number that they use to register all their copies of Windows on the machines they are building, which is separate from the serial number printed on the outside of your computer. When installing Windows, it detected the factory serial embedded somewhere deep in my hardware, instead of my own - so when it came time to activate it online, it was failing. When I looked closer, that's when I realized it was the wrong serial, and I needed to change it manually to be my own instead - then it activated just fine.
