"No supported video device found"?

    Hey there!

    Here's the problem: when trying to open the webcam, using both the icon on the desktop and the XFCE Menu on the taskbar, it comes up wit a message "No supported video device found". It did this before, but after trying it twice again, the webcam worked. Now it isn't working at all, and it is rather annoying, even though I don't use it that often.

    It's more of a "niggling the back of your mind" type aggravation than an "I really need to use it and I can't" annoyance.

    Thanks for anyone who can help. I thought I had a brainwave with running alsamixer - but then I remembered that this is only for audio -.-
