I'm trying to boot Ubuntu from a bootable USB stick. However, when I go into F12 boot order during start up, there are only 2 options, and neither of them are USB.

In the boot order in F2, I can choose to select USB FDD or USB HDD, but neither has any details next to it, and when I select either of them, it doesn't do anything. Just boots up the regular way.

    Anyone got any ideas?

You have to insert the pendrive prior to booting so the BIOS can indentify it.
