I just keep using OS X like I have on all my regular Macs.

Microsoft Office, iWork, Firefox, Safari, Terminal, Mail, Skype, Evernote...

The MacOS has a lot of goodies built in. Try Command-K in the Finder and type vnc:// followed by the IP of a computer running a VNC server ;)

Never had any problems using the same programs as on all my other Macs.

    Photoshop CS4, illustrator CS4, Aperture, ilife 09, iwork 09 and office 08...
The only programs that i have had some problems with are some games and the limit is in the graphic card and nothing else.

ArtGUIscale for A150 is a must-have widget for the One. Nice to get the bottom menus....

    Cyberduck for filetransfer

Utorrent or Transmissions for more filetransfers

iLife and iWork are useful, but Open Office is also an alternative

    VLC is a must-have

Xslimmer is also nice. Saves you lots of disk space

OSX86Tools, Adobe reader, Adobe flash- and shockwave player, CoCoAspell, The Unarchiver are all essentials

EyeTV if you got a TV-tuner (can also be used with a USB h264 accelerator)

Toast Titanium if you got a DVD burner (A modded MacBook Air superdrive is a great companion for the One running OSx)

Gimp is almost as good as PhotoShop, and xxxx pounds cheaper

If you are to "try-before-you-buy", the iSerial is nice to have...

To that list, I would add Carbon Copy Cloner; an essential - and free - utility if you want to backup your system and make a (USB) bootable copy of OS X. It can save you a lot of time and you can experiment with hacks / tweeks at will! I use it on both my AAO and my Mac Mini.

    Mail - for checking GMAIL.
iWork - Same as Microsoft Office but for Mac.
    iTunes
    Preview
    MSN Messenger
    iCHAT
Front Row - gotta love watching trailers.
    VLC - A must have.
Photoshop CS4 - Which runs pretty good.
Candybar - For changing system icons.
coconutBattery - For checking battery status
    Terminal & Activity Monitor
    OSX86Tools and Kext Helper
    CyberDuck - For FTPing
    Transmission - Bittorrent client
    Bowtie - iTunes helper
    iStat Pro - System Monitoring

And some others I can't remember right now

I don't have a problem running one of the CS4 apps, but if i'm running 2 or multiple, my system will lockup or ram gets maxed out along with CPU. defently not a computer to depend on for Adobe CS4 programs

Illustrator isn't too power hungry for a computer, but useing Dreamweaver and Photoshop or even sometimes with fireworks, i get system hangs. Flash CS4 is the worst when i have that and another CS4 program open
