    Hello All,

I had the problem of the really slow wireless speed. (even with the power saving option to Off)

So try to find newer driver... And I got it!

    Version 7.6.0.239
Click the link below to download
    http://filebeam.com/777fdb28bdd4fcd8f6981616b4fc4f98

Update with the Windows XP Device manager...

And that solve the problem!! I now have a very great wireless speed!

I didn't say it was newest... but newer then the one available on the driver section on this web site. (Acer FTP web site still supply the 224 version...)
If you can provide driver that are newer then mine, then post it here.

The last version really improved the speed compared to pre-installed one

Sorry to bother everyone. I am running XP with a gig of Ram on my AA1. I downloaded the driver from the link listed in this post and I attempted to update the driver through device manager but it's not recognizing the new driver.

I unzipped the file and had device manager search the embedded folder for the driver, but it states that a more current driver could not be found.

Can anyone provide some assistance or direction on what may be happening, or what I may be doing wrong? I really appreciate any input provided.

wow thanks for posting the .260 driver, it really speeds things up!!! Webpages were fine, but video chats really had problems. Poor sound quality and video quality, skype thought my internet connection was too slow for two way video...pfft 3mbps dsl. Yahoo always poped up with a weak wifi signal message during a call even though notebook was 8feet away from the router. Now it's all perfect. Thanks guys!!!

Sorry for the NB question. How do I check the version of my wireless driver? (So far, I am very happy with the speeds. I just had it delivered yesterday, it is a XP 160gb 6 cell model and on the side of the box it says "System Bios 35/3301")
    Thanx.

There may be a quicker way, but Ctl Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Network Adapters/Atheros/l-click Properties/Driver gets you to the info.

Mine shipped with BIOS 3301 as well, and the August 14, 08 Atheros driver 7.6.0.260 showed up in Microsoft Windows Update as a new optional install, along with a new Realtek audio driver. I'd check that first, as being an easy way to install the drivers. (My system is running very well, so I'm skipping the constant BIOS updates until Acer issues a final one.)
