    Hi,

I've got the below usb sound card and when I plug it in, It shows a green light but when I play any music file, it comes out of the default speakers of acer one.
    http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-A ... 272&sr=8-1

    On typing lsusb, I can see that it's a C-media 119 chipset card.\\

    Pls help.

    Regards,
    Dave

I have a version of that. When you have multiple sound cards, the default is the first one loaded. You may have to select which audio card you want to use. You can even use dozens of sound cards at the same time.

Not sure which Linux distribution you are using, but I can switch between cards through the command line applications:

    # mpg321 --help
High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layer 1, 2, and 3.
    .......
    --audiodevice N or -a N Use N for audio-out

    Hi dattaway,

I tried the commands that you mentioned but it didn't work for me. How can I find out if my usb sound card is installed correctly? Once installed, how do I change the output source so that the sound comes from my usb sound card and not from the default sound card.

    Regards,
    Dave
