I have bought a 9 cell battery from Deal Extreme and left my Aspire One on by mistake. Since then I cannot get the battery to charge at all. I have updated the firmware and tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery over and over again, but it remains dead.

My original battery works just fine.

Is there anything I can do to revive the 9 cell one?

How long did you leave it to charge? 18 to 24 hours?

Send it back for arep lacement?

I have a friend who owns a batttery repair/build store. From iPods to heavy equipment vehicles. He puts a tester on the battery and checks to see if it can hold a charge. If they won't, he simply replaces the batteries. Six new batteries should be about $50.00, plus labor.

Well, it seems that Deal Extreme only replace things under 1 months old, so that seems to be out of the question, although I plan on trying to get a replacement if I can't get it sorted myself.

The battery was only £45 so I don't think your mates service will suit me. Thanks anyway.

Does anyone else have any ideas on your to get this battery back on track?
