New HDD "not present" in Bios

    I have a c55-b5170. My hdd has been dying but still functions...barely. Pulled it out and put in a working (but used) HGST HDD. The bios doesn't recognize it. Checked the connections a dozen times. And since when I plug the old one in, bios sees that, I'm wondering what the fix is. Anyone?
