The Acer website is merely a nice frontend for the FTP server. So which of them you pick does not matter.
Live Update gets its updates elsewhere. They differ from those offered on the ftp site.

Of course, there is also the ftp site with the kernel source and the recovery dvd iso ;)

So.... if you use the Acer website and the Live Update would the PC get "confused" e.g. if you've downloaded Filezilla via Live Update and then installed the newer version via the Acer website... would that work or screw up the One or the Live Update history... or both...?

    Thanks,

You cannot install filezilla through LiveUpdate, last time I checked ;)
I would however like to know where the live updates come from..

EDIT: They seem to be hiding on the Linpus server. For instance here:
http://update.linpus.com/ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.15/ - which corresponds to the version number of the online recovery dvd.
    More patches under older versions.

Yes you can, I did it earlier this evening. Then I noticed the Live Update version of Filezilla was slightly older than the Acer website update version, hence wondering whether one would successfully stand on the other etc.

    Cheers,
