    The XP, 120GB HDD version is shipping in the middle of August, pretty much in sync worldwide.

    What's not clear is whether the version released then will have the 3 or 6 cell battery. For my locale (Japan) it will be the 3 cell.

    I bought one (xp w/120GB HD & 6 cell) on 7/31 in Taipei, about US$ 500 (got a tradeshow discount of about US$ 50). Was told by ACER reps that supplies are going to be tight, especially certain colors (like White), and not enough for all the pre-orders. Hope those of you waiting got your orders in early enough. Amazing how long the battery last and how cool it stayed. I am content with the price and performance.
