New Acer - Defective?

    My wife and I got an Acer 10-inch from our kids last August, have had problems ever since, in spite of years of computer use for each of us. First, I cannot use this mouse pad, OK, an external wired mouse works great, even if a wireless one won't.

    Then this Acer locks up repeatedly, everything is dead, forcing us to remove the battery.

    Now the data entry is a problem, Acer will not accept keyboard input.

    Will we have to take this into a shop somewhere? We are in Fraser Michigan, north of Detroit.
