I recently installed 8GB of DDR3 ram onto my laptop and it can only use 3.4GB of ram.
I've tried to swap the ram sticks but to no luck. Any help? I'm running Windows 10 32bit

Welcome to the laptop forums site

What is the model of your laptop?

There's different types of ram, some ram have different voltages 1.35 v
or 1.5v putting in the wrong ram can cause problems.

This program will help you identify what's fitted

It's worth checking online to see what ram should have been fitted
just type in your model number and add review should be the easiest way

2 4gig sticks? if so, one is either faulty, or just not seated in correctly. have a look and see...pull one stick, and try, then put the other stick in...then try the two together again.
