need help on laptop purchase

Hi, to be blunt I'm completely computer illiterate. New workload requires a laptop. Must be purchased from the 'very' catalogue. Have up to £500 to spend, up to 15.6 inch, no mad colours as its for business. Im an exec chef so it has to work fast as time and patience are at a premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If i can help by refining the search please ask but as i said i know nothing about them. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help this total noob
