need help making my battery last as long as possible

im running xp on a 110 and take it out traveling most of the time so really want to get the most out of my battery ,
so whats the best settings i can set my netbook at when im out on my travels

The usual. Disable devices you wont need running, turn down your screen, use hibernate instead of sleep. You can use a1ctrl to put the fan on off as well as long as the heat doesn't get too high, it will also allow you to turn off LAN/wi-fi/webcam if you like, and lock the CPU speed to 800mhz.
