After waiting and waiting for this thing to arrive i canceled my order but was told they would be getting another brand of drop in replacement which is alot faster and alot cheaper. Keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath.

    hey,

i think it would be cheaper and a bit faster to solder a sata ssd on board. afaik, they seem to realy differ in R/W speed. im not shure, if i will manage to do so within the next two weeks, but i think i will give it a try.

    soldering the sata connector:

    http://maximumoverclock.com/?p=13

the drives are around 80$ and indicate R/W speeds of about 60/120. so this would realy maka a difference.

if you are not affraid to solder (in this case it should not be too dificult), you should think about it...
