Dabs.com has the AOA150-Bb at £279.63 inc vat. The VAT makes it a little dearer than what I'm paying, but at least its in stock.

Sorry to hear about the delay, but you gotta wonder if Dabs is playing games - advertising as "in stock" to attact a big bunch of orders, when they knew full well that it's not going to ship before mid-August.

they couldn't tell me thou how many they are getting in stock.

I get to talk to a DABS reoresentative quite often as I order stuff through my work's contract with them. although he's very helpful (not even comparable to the service you get as a normal customer) etc, it does transpire that dabs don't really care what they announce on their website (I guess they know people will mostly wait, and they'll have the money anyway). I know that personally I would never order from them unless it's "in stock" cause last time I did otherwise (for 4 new quad core chips) it took them ages, and they trickled the chips to me over 3 deliveries weeks apart...

obviously luck is a factor, so who knows!

I rang Play.com just now (16:00) to find out the status of my pre-order (Blue 1GB 120HDD Linux) and the Customer rep told me that they received sufficient stock to fullfill only 30% of all pre-orders let alone anyone who wanted to order online immediately. He was unable to say when the next consignment was due (a few days.. couple of months etc) but thought due to the high demand of the Acers that it would probably be sooner rather than later. I am going to hold on for a week or so to see if the situation changes otherwise I will be going to Amazon (unless the stock levels are no different).

they have stock on the 8GB white or Blue Linpus models... mine is ordered 1-3 days delivery HAAAAAAAA

They just cancelled my order because I failed the "security check" whatever that is, I guess I shouldn't have used google check out.
They still have stock, so I ordered again, but only to realise the price had gone up... by £1 and a bit... £1 AND A BIT... WTF, is that why they cancelled my order? for £1 and a bit? hum... not so fond of DABS right now.

Wow sounds like quite the rush to get a hold of one of one over there. I just called CDW yesterday over here in the US and they should be receiving 75 of them today...and had 21 left that hadn't been ordered (I made that 20 ) ...now the site is back to call for availability again so there could be the same kind of rush over here too. Hopefully I get mine next week sometime though!
