    Hello everyone!

Just bought an Aspire One, not modified it at all, but for some reason the Headphone Jack only outputs in mono.

I know it's the output and not the cables - I tested it with my headphones, and a direct line to my amp (both of which work when plugged into my mp3 player)... does the Aspire One only output in mono? Any help / advice is much appreciated!

Weird - this has just fixed itself!

Unsure what it was as I updated quite a few things before testing this again... Well, whatever the reason, I'm one happy bunny! This laptop is straight-up LOVELY.

    Hi,

I'm having this exact same problem: only getting sound in the right channel from the headphone port. If anyone has any ideas of how to resolve it, that would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 8.9" model, Linux OS.

    Thanks,

    John

Actually, it now seems to have resolved itself. Posting on this thread is obviously the way to do it!

I had a similar problem at first. I opened the volume control for playback and broke the link between both channels, moved the sliders around and then linked the channels again. When I plugged the headphones back in everything was fine  No idea if it was me who fixed it or not.

While laptop speakers working like a charm both, when i attach my headphones (tried a lot of them) the one channel of the headphones is not working (muted).
Reformatted, changed drivers, even opened the case and with the multimeter tried to catch a signal from the said channel in the jack.
Also checked the 40 pin cable from the Foxconn M/B to the Hanstar M/b where sound output is.

I like seeing movies with headphones and until now i never used the audio jack since purchase.
Warranty is over. Changed M/B once due to usual fan problem.

Also today changed with another hannstar sound card and cable but problem persists!!!!
    Any input?
