my aspire one with ubuntu is not connecting to internet

    so i officially cannot get on the internet at all. so im using the most recent ubunut version updates and everything. and the wireless didnt work in the first place when i got it but now even wired i cant get on the internet. so please help me out.

    and anyone use windows 7 and how does it compare to a slimmed down version on xp?

    to get your wireless working again after a kernel update you will need to re-compile the mad wifi driver again. The instructions and in the ubuntu help documentation if you search for aspire one. You only need to re-compile as the driver is already downloaded so forget the wget instruction and you wont need internet access on the one just on another pc to look the instructions up. Hope this helps. Cant help with the wired prob tho as mine has always worked fine
