Have you tried to use the VGA out port to feed a TV, by any chance? What I'm really asking is, "do you know whether the AAO VGA port supports TVout?"

I am also using MythTV on the AA1. The only thing I am wondering is if there are some optimizations that can be done, e.g. how should I set up the TV playback profile?

XvMC might work to save a little CPU, see the MythTV wiki for details.

I've found that disabling all stderr/stdout logging makes some video smoother - run mythfrontend with "-v none"

Thanks, I think this helped a little. I had some stuttering with DVB-C recordings and now it seems to work fine.
