media players don't work

    OK - the pre-installed media player is awful, however no other media player I install - be it Amarok or Audacious will play mp3s. Where have I gone wrong?

    I think you need to provide some more info.

    Do you only have troubles playing mp3's, or are there problems with ogg/wav/...-files as well?

    Can you play mp3 files with the built in media player?
