It is possible by using UNetBootin software: http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html - in my case wasn't working then I installed from external CD/DVD player. Some people saying that all is OK with this software...

Thanks for this link. I have been strugglin with this for about 2 weeks before finding your link. I even tried lordics other tutorial but it wouldnt go for me. His kit though worked like a champ. Now I have Mandriva 2009 up and running. Only few probs for me:

    1. Cam and mic doesn't work with skype
    2. Sound keeps cuttin out
    3. Sound tooooo low
    4. Mouse sensitivity is outrageous and I can't adjust it (had same prob in Linpus as well)
    5. Card readers weren't working but did a re-install with both slots filled and :D now they work.

Any ideas for the first four? I am still stumped.....

    Thanks
