    Still in progress working on make a compatible LXDE desktop for Aspire One. Not ready yet but with some modification, I have LXDE desktop like this:
    [attachment=0:1y2uwvt0]lxde.png[/attachment:1y2uwvt0]
    It's hard to find LXDE package for Fedora 8, so decided to build it from source base on Fedora 10 source RPM and small modification on lxde-common and lxpanel for Aspire One compatibility. You can download it from http://rapidshare.com/files/154435862/l ... r.bz2.html
    My suggestion, do not install lxlauncher since it not ready yet for now (maybe red Marlboro and Coca Cola will make the development much faster :lol: ) LXLauncher can generate menu for installed applications automatically from *.desktop files.

    For session selection, you must activate GDM (I have multi desktop for my Aspire One: XFCE, KDE, and LXDE). Change /etc/rc.d/rc.S, code snipped:
    Code:
    $ sudo mousepad /etc/rc.d/rc.S
    ...
    #   /usr/bin/xinit -- -br>/dev/null 2>&1 &
       /usr/sbin/gdm
    ...

    Just found a solution for lxlauncher. This application folowing freedesktop.org standard: look in ~/.local/share/applications and ~/.local/share/desktop-directories first and than to /usr/share . It's much better than Acer/Linpus app launcher.
    I have a lightweight desktop and almost compatible kernel, now I need a RPM base and light distribution for my Aspire One. Maybe better stick on Linpus :)

    With small modification on the source, now I have bigger icon on lxlauncher. Look very nice! Why this app better than Acer/Linpus launcher? After installing Skype, the icon will ready for you on Connect tab :p
