I installed the xfce-power-manager and everything seemed spiffy. At first, Then I noticed that none of the settings in the GUI actually had any effect. I ditched that and went back to running gnome-power-preferences and this works but is limited.

What's the best approach? Do I need to uninstall/disable gnome-power-manager to get xfce-power-manager to work?

    Thanks
